Welcome New Neighbor,
The Lake Bluff/Lake Forest Newcomers' Club was founded to promote friendship among new residents as well as to help them become active members of our communities. Getting settled in a new community can be a daunting task, and we hope that the Newcomers' Club can be of some help to you in making you feel right at home and part of the community.
Club members must join within their first 18 months of residence in LF/LB, and they can be members for up to 5 years. The Newcomers' Club has over 175 families and a wide variety of ongoing activities. Whether it’s finding a tennis partner, joining a book discussion group, touring historic homes in the area, attending the latest play downtown, or just getting to know other people in a relaxed setting - we try to have something for everyone. We also have many other activities you may enjoy, including monthly luncheons, play groups for children, Ladies’ Night Out, Men's Night Out, Potluck dinners, Wine Tasting events and Evening Socials.
If you would like to learn more about the club, or if you are thinking of joining, we cordially invite you to attend one of our prospective member coffees. The coffees are held in one of our member’s homes where you’ll have a chance to meet some people and find out what we’re all about. Information about the coffees can be found on this website. A membership application can be completed online or downloaded and mailed in. For further information, please contact us. Our address is: The Newcomers' Club of Lake Bluff and Lake Forest, P.O. Box 253, Lake Forest, Illinois 60045.
Again, we welcome you to the community. We hope your life here will be filled with happiness and friendship. And toward that end, we feel that the Newcomers' Club can be of assistance. Check us out. We know what it’s like to move to a new community and are here to be helpful and supportive. I'll personally look forward to meeting you, but, in the meantime, if I can be of assistance to you, please don't hesitate to contact me by email me by visiting the contact us page and choosing "Contact the President".
Sincerely,
Janita Reehl, President, 2011-2012
